Beauty: Why is my skin breaking out?

In no way am I a skin expert or professional. I will not claim that! I can only share my personal skin experiences. Keep your hands out of your face (scratching, touching, popping pimples, etc.). Don't pick at your face. Skin types: normal, dry, combination, oily. I have oily skin! Read below for more deets and questions you may want to ask yourself:

1. My diet/intake: What am I eating? Sugar! That is my problem. I love chocolate, dairy (ice cream), and sweets in general so I have to be careful with what I am eating and how much I am eating as that breaks my face out most of the time (eat all foods in moderation, easier said than done though). All of those goodies are the wrong things to eat but I treat myself once/week to a sweet dessert anyhow! Dark chocolate is a great alternative along with green tea and other diets (Keto & Paleo). The best tasting food (greasy/fatty) may break out your face as well. Take note of your break-out areas and spot-treat, mine is my forehead.

2. My skin products: Did I research what I am buying/using? I reach out to my dermatologist for an appointment and my esthetician for questions about my skin before I try something new out of my normal skin regimen. Research the ingredients in the products before use to understand what does and does not mix well. I try not to over-use any of my skin products.

3. My stress-level: What am I stressed out about? I have a busy schedule, always on-the-go and I am a perfectionist so I often stress out over the smallest things I like things a certain way. Pray and meditate to lower stress. Practice deep-breathing in the car during lunch breaks, or when you wake up. Self-care is the best care! Stress relievers: spa days, shopping, drawing/writing, make-up, working out, walking/running, yoga, napping, and music helps me with stress.

4. My bed sheets/towels: Are they clean enough for your face? There is dirt, oil, sweat, dead skin, and bacteria build-up in our sheets. Wash your bed sheets 2-3Xs/month. I recommend bleach, Lysol's Laundry Sanitizer for your towels it smells so fresh along with Tide and Downy's Unstopable Beads (black and blue package). I wash my towels with hot water and my clothes with cold water. Bathe and soak your body in the bathtub for a simple deep clean.

5. My workouts/exercise: Is this a stress reliever? Move your body! Release tension and energy by working out (even sex) to avoid breakouts.

Other factors to keep in mind or use: hormones, sleep, cycle/period, your hair, water intake, aloe vera, hair products, makeup products/brushes, and recent life changes. Clean your phone weekly!
