Most parents have already made up their minds. But let's talk really quick about this topic because our kids are so important and they are our future! Some schools in GA are giving parents the option and I believe that is the best option for schools to give due to COVID-19. I would be so torn if I had to decide this right now for my kids based on so many factors! But I work with families all day, everyday and many parents still continue to have this discussion and feel uneasy not knowing if they are making the right decision or not? What would you do or what are you currently choosing now?
Next quarter for blogging topics, I want to make sure that I discuss the vaccine (its pros & cons).
Pros:
This becomes a new learning experience for child to learn how to adjust in any environment.
Children and their parents are now at home together creating better bonds and interactions.
Parents may just feel safer safer with their children at home.
Some individuals learn better online and virtually (mostly for the older children in high school). For example, if I was a senior in high school I would love virtual learning!
It may be helpful for a child to stay home with other family members if they have that support.
Cons:
Our children could get sick and risk their health when going back to school (spreading virus).
Kids are already used to their set schedule and the set-up at school each school year.
Domestic violence and family violence is up right now which creates incidents & occurrences.
Some (younger & special education class) children need that face-to-face interaction to learn.
Some parents do not have family/friend support or time (due to scheduling & working) to teach 24/7.
